SEO Courses and ebooks for Bloggers
I have studied SEO for years and the strategies are always changing while Google adjusts it’s ranking algorithm. SEO courses help you learn from other bloggers’ experiences with building traffic to their sites. While a lot of the core SEO concepts are pretty consistent from course to course, strategies and SEO approaches will vary in the different courses. And not all courses are always available for enrollment.
Depending on where you are in your blogging and SEO journey, different classes may be a better fit for you than others.
I’ve taken most of the courses below to help give you a few hints on my 2-cents for each. Ultimately you’ll need to decide which is fits you most in the moment. Or you may need to wait until the next enrollment periods.
Easy On Page SEO by Debbie Gartner (The Flooring Girl) eBook
The Easy On Page SEO by Debbie Gartner, is an easy to follow ebook designed for beginners and intermediate bloggers. Debbie started blogging back in 2010 when SEO was really the primary way to drive traffic to your websites and blogs. The ebook focuses on what you need to do focus your blog post for search engine traffic.
My 2 cents: If you’re new to SEO, check out this ebook. It’s very budget friendly, and gives you the foundational information about SEO. Having a good keyword strategy isn’t enough to rank in Google, you also need to get those keywords in the right places in your blog post to have a chance at ranking. The checklist of steps in this ebook gives you the keys to improve your individual blog posts for SEO (called on-page SEO)
Stupid Simple SEO by Mike Pearson
Mike Pearson launched the Stupid Simple SEO course in 2018 to share his knowledge and experience from building money-earning websites. The course is primarily video-based and was updated to include even more videos and lessons.
The course is split 4 major phases (Build, Design, Create, and Promote) covering a comprehensive view of SEO.
This course also includes a private Facebook group where Mike and Mark, an SEO coach. actively answers questions.
My 2 cents: I don’t consider this an SEO 101 course and like it more for established bloggers who want to increase their search engine traffic. Mike’s approach to keyword research is interesting. In the original version of the course, half focused on his keyword strategy and the other half is about link building. For the 2.0 version of the course, Mike expanded the conversation and in going through it again, I’m really impressed. Well worth the investment.
And aside from the hours and hours of SEO strategy videos, he also created a dashboard that will help you visualize your progress. It’s a unique offering I haven’t seen elsewhere either.

Adventures in SEO by Lena Gott of What Mommy Does
Adventures in SEO by Lena Gott is a course covering SEO for both Google and Pinterest. Depending on your blog’s niche, you may want to build traffic from both sources. While you may consider Pinterest to be a social media website, it’s actually a search engine. I’m sure you’re also a busy blogger so finding a way to do combine your keyword research and posting strategy helps you build your traffic efficiently.
Lena’s course mixes video and written content, which is great for different types of learning styles. She runs a cohort specific Facebook group for the recent enrolls along with an alumni Facebook group. Adventures in SEO is also only available to join during limited enrollment periods.
My 2 cents: This course gave me new ideas for keyword research and blog post writing that I did not previously consider. I love that Lena is very available for questions and active in her Facebook group. You may want to be a little more established in your blog before jumping into this one. Lena also has a free trial option you can check out which includes a few lessons on Pinterest along with a video about Google. Check it out to help get you started until the next open enrollment. of the full course.

It includes methods for keyword research and blog post writing. It’s geared towards newer bloggers that don’t have much experience with SEO or haven’t been able to gain Google traction so far.
My 2 cents: I haven’t had a chance to take Kelly’s SEO course yet, but I completed her Sticky blogging course. She’s a great teacher. The benefit with this course is that it’s available for enrollment at any time. If you’re looking for a course to take soon, take a closer look at this one to see if it’s a fit for you.
Easy Backlinks for SEO by Debbie Gartner (The Flooring Girl) ebook
Easy Backlinks for SEO by Debbie Gartner was the first SEO-related ebook Debbie published based on her experience blogging since 2010. Building links from other sites or blogs back to your website (also referred to as backlinks) are important to your blog SEO strategy. Debbie focuses on approaches and tips for building backlinks without having contact other bloggers. As a new blogger or someone that’s more of an introvert the idea of “blogger outreach” is terrifying. It also sounds time consuming. Instead of feeling awkward about asking for backlinks to your new book, check out Debbie’s book.
My 2 cents: I’ll fully admit that backlink building is not my strongest skill and Debbie’s ebook introduced me to multiple ideas how I could increase backlinks to my blog. Build ing backlinks is time consuming, so having a few additional tactics is very helpful to make traffic progress.
